Different districts get new DCs

Staff Correspondent:The government has promoted four additional secretaries to secretaries.

In a major reshuffle in the civil administration, the government has also appointed 20 new Deputy Commissioners.

The public administration ministry on Wednesday issued separate gazette notifications in this connection.

The new secretaries are: Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) Secretary Shahjahan Ali Molla, Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority’s Chairman Paban Chowdhury, BCS Admin Academy’s Rector Sohrab Hossain and Textile and Jute Secretary Farid Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury.

Prime Minister Office (PMO) Director Md. Ashraf Uddin has been made DC to Bogra, Abdus Sabur Mandol to Chandpur and Nurul Amin to Kurigram, Savar BPATC’s Director Kamal Uddin Bishwas to Madaripur, Tangail District Council’s Chief Executive Officer Gazi Md. Saifuzzaman to Barishal, Department of Primary Education’s Deputy Director AM Pavez Rahim to Sherpur, Chittagong District Council’s Chief Executive Officer Rabindra Shree Barua to Jhalkathi, Magura Local Government’s Deputy Director Rahat Anwar to Rangpur, Health Ministry’s Deputy Secretary Jillur Rahman Chowdhury to Laksmipur, Liberation War Affairs Ministry’s Deputy Secretary Mahbub Alam Talukder to Jhenaidah, Economic Relations Division’s Deputy Secreary Aminur Rahman to Naogaon, BRTA’s Director Mir Khairul Alam to Dinajpur, Department of National Consumers Rights Protection’s Deputy Director Safiqul Islam to Meherpur, Public Administration Ministry’s Deputy Secretary Abdus Samad to Gaibandha, Parliamentary Standing Committee Chairman’s Personal Secretary Helal Mahmud Khasru to Narail, Education Ministry’s Deputy Secretary Saima Yunus to Chuadanga and PSC Secretariat’s Director Sabina Alam to Habiganj.

Among the reshuffled DCs, Habiganj’s DC Jainal Abedin was transferred to Sylhet, Madaripur’s GSM Zafarullah to Kishorganj and Kishorganj’s SM Alam to Gazipur.


The DCs of Gazipur, Sherpur, Jhalkathi, Gaibandha, Kurigram, Narail, Sylhet, Meherpur and Chuadanga, who were earlier promoted to joint Secretary, have been posted to different ministries and other government offices.

DCs of Dinajpur and Chandpur have also been transferred to different offices.
